Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and CAS Concepts Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11692772), registered office 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, for your use of Understated at understated.club. By creating an account you agree to them. Contact us at hello@understated.club.

Your account

• You must be 18 or over to use Understated.
• Give us a working email address and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
• Your handle must not impersonate someone else or mislead people. We may reclaim a handle that does.

Your content

The photos, descriptions and other things you add stay yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display and process that content only as needed to run Understated for you: showing it to the people your visibility settings allow, and sending it to our AI provider when you ask for a name or an estimate. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies we briefly hold in backups.

You confirm you have the right to post what you add, and that it doesn’t break the law or anyone else’s rights.

What you must not do

• Post items that are stolen, counterfeit, or illegal to own, or anything unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit.
• Upload photos or content you don’t have the right to use.
• Use Understated to sell items, collect other people’s data, send spam, or mislead others about what you own.
• Try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of the service.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Value estimates

Names and value estimates are produced by AI from your photos and details. They are rough guides based on typical market prices, not professional appraisals or valuations, and they may be wrong. Don’t rely on them for insurance, sale, tax or legal purposes. Get an independent valuation for anything important.

Plans and payments

• Free accounts cost nothing. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time from Account → Manage billing. Your paid features continue until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your account moves to the free plan. Your content isn’t deleted.
• Page looks are a one-off purchase and stay unlocked while your account exists.
• Prices include VAT where it applies. If we change a plan’s price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before then.

Refunds and your right to cancel

If you’re a consumer, you can cancel a new subscription or look purchase within 14 days of buying it and get a full refund by emailing hello@understated.club. After 14 days, payments already made are not refundable, except where the law says otherwise. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights.

Our service

We work to keep Understated running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or improve features over time. If we ever close Understated, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and a way to download your content, and refund any unused part of a paid period.

Please keep your own copies of photos that matter to you. Understated is a showcase, not a backup service.

Ending your account

You can stop using Understated at any time. To delete your account and content, email hello@understated.club. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law. Otherwise, we aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for decisions you make based on value estimates. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll let you know by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using Understated after that, the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
